BICIKL never stops and this time has been in South Africa to deliver a training course called "The Taxonomy Integrated to Digital Media - how to facilitate the access and reuse of taxonomic data by the scientific community".
Twenty-one researchers, technicians, and Postgraduate students from different South African biodiversity institutions participated in the classes - co-organized and taught by SANBI (South African National Biodiversity Institute).
There were theoretical-practical classes, using different virtual repositories of data on biodiversity, programs, and platforms for extracting and analyzing data taken from academic publications focused on the South African flora intended for virtual repositories. Some of these resources were BiCIKL-originated.
The course, which has been co-funded by BiCIKL, gave the participants the opportunity to start their certifications as data analysts and data liberators through Plazi’s platforms and also aimed to prepare new trainers to increase data liberation and reuse according to the FAIR data concept.
